award of excellence from Dirona, "Distinguished
Restaurants of North America". Located in Durham,
NC, Papas Grille was established in 1994 and serves
a contemporary style of cuisine from the Hellenic &
Mediterranean region. It is owned and operated by
the Papanikas family, whose commitment to excellence
continuously elevates each aspect of the dining
experience. The appearance of Papas Grille from the
outside is very misleading until entering the
establishment. Once entering, a warm greeting of
hospitality awaits as the ambiance & aromas embrace
the senses. The menu is vast with an array of
selections & courses to indulge in. Tasting menus
are executed on a spontaneous assortment by chef Sam
Papanikas for the adventurous patrons. The wine
selection at Papas Grille is as impressive as the
menu recognizing a variety of vineyards worldwide.
Events are held monthly to sample wines from
different vineyards & vintners with simple food
pairings and a variety of people to discuss the
evening's flavors. Papas Grille has been considered
the area's best kept culinary secret for quite some
